OfferLink™ Guide

Showing Etiquette

A few simple guidelines that keep showings professional, safe, and respectful — for everyone involved.

The Golden Rule

Keep in mind you are a guest in someone's home. Be respectful, be brief, and treat it like a job interview. People do business with people they like — so Be Cool and follow The Golden Rule.

Do

Create a paper trail — use OfferLink™ messaging for all negotiations and payment coordination.

Be on time for showings. Arrive at your scheduled time and not before.

Be prepared to remove your shoes or use booties provided at the door.

Keep questions focused on the property — layout, systems, history, HOA rules.

Don't

Don't make negative or unnecessary comments about the home — even casually.

Don't take photos or videos without the seller's explicit permission.

Don't linger. Be efficient and respectful of the seller's time and space.

Don't visit or walk the property outside of your scheduled showing time.

Don't negotiate in person. All offers and counteroffers belong in writing through the platform.

Don't use the bathroom.

Don't bring food or beverages into the home.

Why This Matters

Real estate is a relationship business. Sellers choose buyers they feel comfortable with — and the impression made during a showing can influence whether an offer gets accepted, especially in competitive situations. A clean, professional showing experience builds trust and signals that you'll be easy to work with through the entire transaction.

OfferLink™'s messaging system creates a permanent, timestamped record of all negotiations and agreements — protecting both parties and eliminating "he said / she said" disputes.
